22-year-old and pregnant Hailey Bieber was seen on the streets of New York City with a see-through, all-black lace catsuit. This looks like her version of the new nearly-naked trend that has been spiking in 2024, but in her case, it accentuated her baby bump. The model wore the Alessandra Rich lace jumpsuit with stylish Saint Laurent shoes and combined them with a black trench coat.

While she is not very far along in her pregnancy, Hailey Bieber decided to sport a fashionable maternity look and accessorized it with Gucci Hailey sunglasses and a Ferragamo Wanda mini leather tote bag. She joined the latest trend dominating the fashion and red carpet scenes in her own way with a bold, nearly naked ensemble and stood out by being pregnant while wearing it.

The nearly naked trend is all over the place, with stars like Margot Robbie, Kendall Jenner, and Vanessa Hudgens embracing it. Hailey Bieber wasn’t the first pregnant woman to choose it. The see-through trend was very prominent at this year’s Met Gala, but the bold maternity look was revived and defined by Rihanna in 2022. Back then, she appeared nearly naked in pregnancy attire. This took place in Paris, and she wore a lingerie-like lacy black dress by Dior.

Rihanna Defined the New Maternity Look

When asked about her maternity wear choices, Rihanna shared the reasons why she did not use more conservative pieces. She stated that she didn’t plan to step foot in a maternity aisle and that she felt like she wasn’t going to let the fun of dressing up disappear from her life just because her body was different.

She also shared how she doesn’t understand why society expects pregnant women to “hide” their bellies since what they are doing is incredible, and that society needs to redefine what pregnant women can and can’t wear.
