Kate Middleton Was 'Uninterested' in 'Forming Bond' With Meghan Markle, New Book Claims
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were both outsiders brought into the royal family. Still, that didn’t help them create an instant bond, according to the new book Endgame by Omid Scobie. Kate and Meghan never had much in common. The fact that the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William was no longer friendly didn’t help.
A Lack of Interest
Meghan and Prince Harry's engagement took place in November 2017, and their wedding happened the following May. At the time Kate Middleton and Prince William combined the care of their two young children with royal duty, and Kate also gave birth to her third child. It happened three weeks before the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan. Meghan found that being a working royal was an isolated and lonely experience. She had hoped to be able to turn to Kate for encouragement. However, Kate showed no interest in bonding with Meghan. Kate spent more time talking about Meghan than talking to her. Kate Middleton used to be closer to Harry, and she will always remember those times with good feelings. Still, Kate could no longer trust either Meghan or Harry after all their interviews. Another thing that put some strain on William and Kate was Meghan and Harry's step back from royal life and move to the U.S. in 2020. This left William and Kate with more royal duties and responsibilities.
